Louis P. Karol

Estate Planning Attorney J.D., C.P.A., L.L.M.

Louis Karol is a founding partner of Karol Hausman & Sosnik, est. 1993, a firm comprised of professionals in estate, trust, tax, and elder law planning. Mr. Karol is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Karol received his Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a master’s degree in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. Mr. Karol is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Karol has lectured extensively on estate planning and taxation and has also authored articles for professional trade magazines.

Mr. Karol is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Section on Trusts and Estate Law. Mr. Karol is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Board member of the Long Island Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planning, a member of a number of Charitable Giving Committees such as The American Cancer Society and Family Services Association and a member of the Nassau County Council on Estate Planning. Mr. Karol is a past Adjunct Professor at Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus.


Barry Krane

Certified Financial Planner™

Barry Krane became a Certified Financial Planner™ professional in 1992. He's licensed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and is bound by and enthusiastically adheres to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. He graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York in 1979.

In 1998, Barry also was one of the founding members and remains a Practitioner member of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, Inc. {ADFP}. As such, he is uniquely qualified to aid couples seeking divorce and will work closely with mediators and attorneys who also specialize in this practice.

"My main objective is to help my clients realize their goals and dreams so they may live life with the abundance they desire. It is in this vein that some of my clients warmly think of me as their Life Coach. It is here where I gain deep intrinsic satisfaction from my work. Barry is happily married with four children and two stepchildren. He's been divorced. He's had to deal with the death of his father and serious illness with his son. He understands intimately the issues surrounding adoption, special needs, divorce planning, higher education, retirement planning, elder care, and business planning. . . and uses his extensive experience to assist people in these areas.

David C. Woodward

Certified Public Accountant

David Woodward became a Certified Public Accountant in 1987. In 1989, he started his own accounting practice, which has grown successfully through recommendations and referrals. Today he services over 400 clients – both corporate and individual.  Mr. Woodward’s specialty is tax accounting. Having obtained his securities license in 2000, he has unique knowledge of the securities markets and the associated tax implications.

Mr. Woodward’s common sense approach and his willingness to research questions make him an asset to any client.  With the ever changing tax laws, Mr. Woodward consistently stays ahead of the curve, implementing strategies that make him a leader in his field.

He resides in New York with his wife, Susan, and his two daughters, Shae and Hannah.
